Alicia has been a storyteller since childhood. After lights-out at summer camp, she told stories, made up by her, to her cabin-mates, causing their counselor to nominate little Alicia for a Helper Award because the nightly stories eased home-sick young campers into peaceful sleep. Alicia has always cared about her listeners and readers and, out of respect for them, has given them stories she herself would like to hear or read. Now Alicia presents Secret Chambers, her story of four 19th-century Manhattan families intertwined by dark secrets and deep love, with this caveat for her Respected Reader: “We’re grown-ups now, not kids at camp, so I’ve written a suspenseful story that may well keep you up long past bedtime.”
